Medium - Machine sewing
Come and spend the morning learning how to make the perfect dresden plate. This vintage quilt block is perfect for scrap busting!
The block itself is made from petal shaped fabrics arranged in a circle, sometimes with a centre circle. We will be making a block with 16 ‘blades’ or wedges which will then be sewn onto a piece of background fabirc.
The dresden block could then be repeated several times - even to make a whole quilt as shown in the photo.
We will be machine sewing the dresden blades together and then either machine or hand appliquing the dresden plates onto the background fabric itself.
Fabric requirements will be emailed out nearer to the date of the class.
All classes are held in our stable studio in the beautiful village of Isfield. Please note that the studio is 80 metres approximately from the driveway along a gravel path - so those will mobility difficulties please take note. Due to the studio’s idyllic position the nearest toilet is back up the path in the main house. If you are bringing your own sewing machine to the class we will be on hand to help carry it down to the studio - please just ask for help!
If, for any unforeseen reasons the class has to be cancelled firstly a new date will be offered and you may either transfer to the new date or a refund will be issued. Should you need to change your booking please get in touch with Kelly as soon as possible to discuss alternative plans.
